Implementation of the Common Services Data Model (CSDM) [PL/ENG]

This is a story of an implementation of CSDM in a large organization. During my speach I'll cover the following topics:

  • CSDM, what it is and what it is not
  • CSDM vs CMDB
  • ITSM vs ITOM
  • Business Service Owner perspective (IT4IT & value chain)
  • How to prepare to the implementation
  • Challanges and mistake we may face and how to prevent them

Approaching CMDB Synchronization in the multi-customer environment in CSM

The established approach to planning CMDB is to identify data sources for our CIs and ensure data exchange with them. But what if this information resides in many external CMDBs? Usually, these won’t even be in other ServiceNow instance. It’s nearly impossible to create and maintain integrations for all of them, even assuming we get full access. I approached solving this problem differently, and I’ll share my solution during the presentation.

We are a group of enthusiasts who have been involved with ServiceNow for over 15 years. We know that although the technology is already "warmed up", there is still a lack of a tech community in Poland dealing with this platform.
